I rise to acknowledge and congratulate Victoria Johnson, a student from Freeman Catholic College in Bonnyrigg, who was recently selected to play with the AFL NSW/ACT Indigenous U14 AFL team. On the 20th of April, Victoria played against a multicultural heritage team through the Sydney Academy of Sport at Blacktown International Sports Park. Victoria has also been asked to represent Australia and travel to Ireland, the UK and France as part of a junior girls' AFL tour and receive elite developmental coaching. This a fabulous opportunity for Victoria to represent Australia, her region and other girls in AFL on the world stage. I wish Victoria all the best as she embarks on her tour of Europe, and I look forward to seeing other students similarly realize their sporting aspirations. I acknowledge all those who have been part of Victoria's journey to achieving this significant milestone – coaches, parents, family, teammates, and friends. Our elite athletes are so often supported by a legion of people, which in turn makes our community a better place. Victoria's sporting success is a testament to south-west Sydney's formidable sporting tradition and the immense talent and potential of our young
