I recently attended the launch of the Somewhere Nice op-shop and cafe in Liverpool, an amazing initiative of the Autism Advisory and Support Service [AASS]. Somewhere Nice is a social enterprise that provides training opportunities for people with disabilities and re-sells items donated by the community. Through collaboration with the work prep connect program, staff at the store can receive TAFE qualifications in hospitality and retail, helping them embark on meaningful careers. It was a delight to meet with members of the team, enjoy a coffee and purchase some new decorations for my office. I note that all purchases made seek to enable the store's growth and reinvest in further education for staff. I extend my sincere congratulations to Grace Fava and the team at the AASS, who have worked tirelessly over many years to bring the project to life. I also thank the partners and sponsors that have helped make it possible, including Cabra‑Vale Diggers and TAFE NSW.
