Sally Atkins

14 March 2024

I am so excited to recognise and celebrate Liverpool's 2024 Local Woman of the Year, Sally Atkins. The NSW Women of the Year Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding contributions made by women across our great state. We come together to celebrate the local champions who make our community a better place. Sally is a visual arts teacher at Miller Technology High School. Her dedication to going above and beyond for the students at Miller and her commitment to empowering girls and women in Liverpool make her a worthy recipient of this recognition. On many occasions, I have seen first-hand how Sally leaves no stone unturned to ensure her students have access to opportunities, role models and pathways they may not otherwise be aware of. She does this after school, on weekends and during holidays. She genuinely cares about the success of her students. Additionally, Sally is a digital access campaigner and has served on the board of Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre. I congratulate Sally and thank her for all of her work for the Liverpool community.
