I rise to acknowledge the achievements of Pasifika girls at Miller TAFE, who recently completed the Women in Trade starter course. The Women in Trade starter course encourages young Pasifika women to immerse themselves in non-traditionally female pathways in carpentry and stonemasonry. Over the four-day program, students experience the ins-and-outs of each trade in two-day blocks. At the end of the course, students receive a certificate of attainment to account for their experience. The program is delivered by TAFE NSW and is a partnership between the Pacific Women's Professional and Business Network, J.P. Morgan, Verto and the NSW Department of Education. It was a pleasure the attend the graduation ceremony at Miller TAFE earlier this month, where certificates were presented to the 15 girls who took part in the most recent workshops.
