Nancy Wee

08 August 2024

They say that a good teacher changes lives. Today I acknowledge one of those teachers who has left their mark on generations of young people in my community. I congratulate Nancy Wee on her retirement after many decades as a public school teacher. Mrs Wee has taught at Marsden Road Public School for almost 30 years, with students and staff coming together last month to wish her a happy farewell as she ends a long career in public education. The staff and students at Marsden Road Public School recognised Mrs Wee for her infectious smile, and many of them shared memories and stories about her journey of teaching and learning. It is fitting that this week marks Public Education Week. I am so privileged to have wonderful schools like Marsden Road in my electorate. Teachers in Liverpool are lifting up our kids and helping them reach their fullest potential. That is in no small part due to the work of teachers like Mrs Wee. I wish Mrs Wee all the best in her well‑deserved retirement and thank her for her service.
