Luciana Cutelli

17 September 2024

While some of us were learning to make sourdough and watching Netflix during the COVID-19 pandemic, 7-year old Luciana Cutelli of Cecil Hills became a published author! I am often struck by the incredible talent of Liverpool's young people, and Luciana is an example of someone who has channelled her energies to creating something extraordinary. I acknowledge the guidance and support of her parents Anthony and Randa and her siblings in helping Luciana find a way to build her skills and resilience. Luciana's book Zoe is looking for a friend was written for her teddy bears and the book explores themes such as friendship, adventure, and the important principle of never giving up. I recently joined Luciana and her family at Casula Pre-School for a special reading of her book to preschoolers – and you could hear a pin-drop, that's how engaged they were! Unsurprisingly, Luciana has many talents. A keen soccer player, Luciana was named player of the year for the 2023 Catherine Cannuli Cup tournament. I congratulate Luciana on her achievements and I'm also delighted to inform the House that Luciana has a sequel to Zoe is looking for a friend in the works!
