Liverpool Rangers FC

24 August 2023

Liverpool is known for our capacity to generate some of the world's most renowned sporting talents and our residents are particularly overrepresented on the soccer fields. A key reason for this is the strength of our local sporting clubs, and I am proud to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Liverpool Rangers Football Club. Established in 1963, Liverpool Rangers FC holds the honour of being one of the oldest clubs in the Southern Districts Soccer Football Association. Boasting three full-sized fields, the club's facilities provide opportunities for keen soccer players across our area and enable the limitless ambitions of our future sporting heroes. Over the last 60 years, the Club has generated a record number of junior female teams and recently fielded three senior female teams for the first time, highlighting its commitment to gender equality. I give my congratulations to the players, coaches and supporters of Liverpool Rangers on their extraordinary milestone. I acknowledge the contribution of President Matt McMah and the 2023 committee for their devotion to the sport in Liverpool.
