On Friday 8 March, I attended the Liverpool Quota International Women's Day Breakfast at the Holiday Inn in Warwick Farm. Liverpool Quota is part of a network of global organisations to empower women through service, originating in Buffalo, New York in 1918. As part of the morning, we heard from Claire Pearson, the CEO of Little Wings. Little Wings provide free flight and ground transport services for seriously ill children in rural and regional Australia. It was inspiring to hear about Claire's journey as a working mother. As always, women from across the Liverpool community turned out to celebrate International Women's Day. I make particular mention of the many Liverpool schools who attended the breakfast, including Miller Technology High School, All Saints Catholic College, and Ashcroft High School. I thank the many Liverpool Quotarians responsible for putting this fantastic event together, including President Julie Percival, Secretary Kerrie Oxlade, and June Young. I look forward to working with them for the years to come.
