Liverpool Olympic FC

24 August 2023

There's nothing like grabbing a lamb souvlakia and watching some of south-west Sydney's best talent taking to the field. I've had the pleasure of doing this many times down at Hoxton Park Reserve, the home of Liverpool Olympic Football Club since 1990. The Club was formed in 1982, with a vision to unite the community "through the beautiful game", and initially played at Liverpool Boys High School and Philips Park, Lurnea. Combining the proud Greek heritage of the founders and their strong sense of community, the Club provides a safe haven for young people that creates friendships, nurtures talent and fosters good sportsmanship. This is enhanced by the army of supporters and volunteers who give up their valuable time to help coach, manage and support Liverpool Olympic's teams every week. I sincerely congratulate Liverpool Olympic FC on its 40th Anniversary and wish it success in the seasons ahead. I also acknowledge the dedicated work of the executive committee over many years in servicing our growing community.
