I recognise the Liverpool Mens Shed, which allows men to develop their DIY skills and give back to our community. Numbering over 1200, Mens sheds across Australia are vital social enterprises that help promote men's health and healthy ageing and provide a vehicle for social connection and collaboration. The Liverpool Mens Shed brings attracts men from across south west Sydney and allows members to leverage their own unique skillset though work on different projects. The shed caters for disciplines such as carpentry, wood and metal turning, metal fabrication and even computer skills. It was great to meet with Alvan Freeman and Bob Gosling, who invited me to tour the shed earlier this month and see some of the fabulous works they have underway, including a Santa sleigh and chair for Bunnings. I thank all those who support the Shed's work, and I look forward to seeing what they come up with next.
