It is not every day that one warms up for a competition with theNutbush City Limits. I recognise the New South Wales Hart Junior Netball Titles, which took place last month. From humble beginnings as the State Age Championships, the junior State titles have grown into one of the largest female sporting events in the Southern Hemisphere. After years of disruption from COVID and weather events, the long-anticipated tournament followed a rained-out contest last year. This year the competition was hosted jointly by the Camden and District Netball Association and our own Liverpool City Netball Association, with the State's elite junior players converging on Liverpool's netball courts over three days. It was great to be there at the opening ceremony and to learn that our Liverpool under-12 team left the competition as State champions, in addition to hard-fought contests in other categories. I recognise the efforts of the dedicated umpires, volunteers and staff who made the event possible, as well as Netball NSW and the Liverpool City Netball Association. I look forward to celebrating the further achievements of our emerging netball talents.
