On the 1st of November I celebrated grandparents' day with Liverpool Neighbourhood Connections at their community centre in Warwick Farm. Grandparents' day is a fabulous opportunity to celebrate the immense contribution of grandparents to our communities and families and to recognise the love, wisdom, and warmth they bring into our lives. It was a delight to enjoy morning tea with the LNC seniors' group, where I shared some of my own memorable grandparent experiences, discussed local issues and presented some gifts. I was also joined by LNC's women's social group, which brings many local women together by facilitating a playgroup and activities for their children, I extend my sincere thanks to LNC's Pat Hall and Community Development Coordinator Sarina Torrelli, who generously organised the celebration and enabled my attendance. I also acknowledge Sarina's recent work on a leadership program for boys and girls in some of our local schools.
