I celebrate the achievements of Erin Pogmore, leading firefighter at Liverpool Fire station and long-time SES volunteer. Erin was recently awarded overall officer of the year in a paid capacity at the Rotary NSW Emergency Services Community Awards. She is also the first and only Australian to receive a Higgins and Langley Special Commendation for the development of training and safety, in addition to previously winning the Rotary Rural Inspirational Women's Award. Last year, while Erin was on duty fighting another fire, unfortunately her own home was lost. Despite this, Erin still turned up to work the following day to support her team. With 19 years in the SES and the last 11 with Fire and Rescue NSW, it is difficult to understate the significance of Erin's civic contribution. I join a grateful community in thanking Erin for her tireless service, and I wish her all the best in her future endeavours.
