Catholic Jubilee Year

20 February 2025

The year 2025 marks a Jubilee year for those of the Catholic faith. The motto of this year's Jubilee is Pilgrims of Hope, with Catholics across the world flocking to pilgrimage sites in Rome and other places around the world. One of the pilgrimage sites for the Jubilee is All Saints in Liverpool. Archbishop Anthony Fisher recently designated All Saints as one of 12 places of pilgrimage where full Jubilee indulgences can be obtained. Under that proclamation, Catholic pilgrims will be able to receive the sacrament of penance, eucharistic communion and the opportunity to pray for the intentions of the Holy Father. The Jubilee year is particularly important as it marks the 1,700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, the assembly of Christian bishops to attain consensus over the divine nature of Jesus as God's son. I congratulate All Saints on its proclamation as a place of pilgrimage. My best wishes go to parish priest Father Paul Monkerud, the assistant priests, the church volunteers and the entire congregation during this Jubilee year.
