I recognise the recent Toy Drive undertaken by Ashcroft High School for children at Liverpool Hospital. Last month, student leaders at Ashcroft High School set out on a mission to spread happiness to sick children and express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Liverpool Hospital. Thanks to the generosity of students, staff and the school community, student leaders were able to present many toys to the children, bringing smiles to many faces. In what are difficult times for these children, the energy and compassion of the Ashcroft High School community no doubt goes a long way to making their lives a little bit better. I would like to recognise the efforts of Ashcroft High School's Student Leadership Council in coordinating the toy drive, as well as acknowledge the broader efforts of student leaders in addressing social justice issues in our community. I expect that their civic mindedness and servant leadership will set them on a successful path, and will make our community in Liverpool a better place.
