Over the past 12 months many members of the public have highlighted the lack of coordinated services and amenities in the 2168 area of Liverpool by all levels of government. In response to this issue, I recently organised a 2168 community roundtable meeting to foster collaboration and partnerships between community support providers and bring together stakeholders from diverse sectors. Some of the key concerns raised included the lack of accessible activities for young people, community safety, the high demand for visible policing and the need for investment. Many stakeholders also highlighted how people fell through the cracks due to lack of service coordination and awareness. Going forward, all attendees prioritised strategic planning, consistent representation and building strong relationships. I am excited to share that we will come together on a bimonthly basis to work together to address these issues and help the 2168 community. I thank CORE Community Services for hosting the meeting and all the attendees for demonstrating a collective will to shift the needle on the long-term disregard for the needs of the 2168 area.
