Charishma Kaliyanda has welcomed the announcement of 100 new public preschools throughout New South Wales, including five in the Liverpool electorate.
Co-located at public primary school sites, the new public preschools will be built over the next three years. This will ensure children are ready for kindergarten.
This record investment of $769 million, will ensure quality early education in areas of greatest need across New South Wales.
The NSW Government’s election commitment to deliver 100 public preschools is in sharp contrast to the Liberals and Nationals’ unrealistic claim it would build 500 preschools– a last minute announcement made on the eve of an election, with zero consultation and no proper planning.
New public preschools will be built at the brand new Gulyangarri Public School in the Liverpool CBD, as well as Cartwright Public School, Cecil Hills Public School, Heckenberg Public School, and Miller Public School.
Member for Liverpool, Charishma Kaliyanda said:
“Evidence shows a quality early education is an essential foundation for young children. With today’s announcement of 100 new public preschools across the state, the NSW Government is giving parents more options for their kids’ learning.
“This investment will bring new preschools to areas that need it most. The Liverpool electorate is full of young families that need access to childcare. The five new preschools across my community will ensure that is the case.
“The co-location of early learning centres with public primary schools will help families overcome the barriers that might prevent them from accessing existing preschools and create unique Pre-to-6 education precincts throughout my electorate.
